If its deep purple layers don't attract you, it's juicy flavours most certainly will.
Planting Guide: Better suited to start indoors due to growth timeline - you can start these in containers about 8-12 weeks prior to the last seasonal frost. Sow 1/2" deep in moist, well worked soil. Plant 6"apart. At transplant, plant in rows 12"-18" apart - after the danger of frost has dissipated. Full Sun. Water regularly - about 1" per week. Be careful not to over-water to prevent rot. Compost recommended.
Harvest: About 5 months - allow for the tops to dry out on the surface of the soil prior to extracting. At extraction, allow onions to sit in the sun for about a week to allow the outer layers to crisp. Store in mesh bags for optimum yield.
