Well suited to container planting, red cherry chili peppers are milder in flavour and 'no so hot' on the heat rating.
Planting Guide: Ideal for indoor planting, about 6-8 weeks prior to the last frost. Sow 1/4" deep in well-drained soil. Use a heat lamp if starting indoors. Full sun is best. Harden and transplant 2-3 weeks after the last seasonal frost. Evening transplanting is best as peppers can be finicky amidst temperature changes. Transplant 12"-24" apart in rows 2'-3' apart. Full sun. Ensure soil is well drained. Water regularly. Watch the fertilizer - nitrogen can deter growth. Mulch is great for retaining heat and moisture.
Harvest: 80-100 days. Peppers will go from green to red as they ripen. Peppers can be picked when green and may still produce additional fruit. Use scissors to cut the fruit from the stem.
Tip: Do not plant in older soils that might have contained tomatoes or potatoes in recent years as it may inhibit growth.
