Did you know that Zucchini is a fruit? Great on the grill or in a variety of other uses (even the flowers are edible), zucchini is a great addition to any garden. Vine.
Planting Guide: Sow in late May in warm soil, 1/2 -1" deep, 6-8" apart in hilled rows, 2-3 ft apart. Full sun. Water regularly. Can be sown again in mid summer for a fall harvest. If using a trellis, it must be hardy to sustain the weight of vine and fruit which is quite dense.
Harvest: About 50 days as the blossom falls from the zucchini. Regular harvest will cause continued production, whereas failure to do so will cause the plant to cease to produce.
Tip: One zucchini plant can produce about 10 lbs of zucchini over a harvesting season!
Friendly Neighbours include spinach, garlic, corn and beans.
