This is also why choosing a quality seed, like Zappa Seeds, is so important to ensure to yield the best results. An Asparagus plant once grown can be harvested for many years to come.
When: Best planted as soon as the ground has thawed and soil can be worked. Ideal soil temperature is approximately 10 to 18 degrees celcius.
Where: Full Sun to partial shade How Many: Safe bet is 10-12 seeds per person to ensure fresh produce throughout the harvesting season.
Planting Directions: Plant seeds approximately 12" apart, approximately 6" deep in the center of a prepared bed.
Planting Tip: Soaking the seeds in warm water for about 30 min prior to planting may help germination.
Friendly Neighbours: Cauliflower, beans, beets, corn, strawberries, cabbage and cucumbers work really well.
