Methi Fenugreek: is an herb that is similar to clover. It is native to the Mediterranean region, southern Europe, and western Asia. The seeds are used in cooking, in medicine, and to hide the taste of other medicine. Fenugreek seeds smell and taste similar to maple syrup.

If you are looking for a plant that carries a grocery list of benefits, fenugreek is your friend. Whether used as an ornamental for its blooms, as a cover crop for nitrogen rich soil, for the aroma that it brings to the garden or for its edible and even medicinal purposes - hard to go wrong with this fellow!

Planting Guide: This plant must be directly sown in late spring or early summer, well after the danger of frost has passed and soil temperatures have warmed.Soaking seeds overnight may help germination.  Seeds can be broadcasted on well worked and drained soil, in rows about 16" apart. If not broadcasting, sow 1/4" deep, about 4" apart.  Full sun. Keep soil moist but not overly damp. Also ideal for container planting due to its shallow roots.

Harvest: About 30 days for leaves - regular clipping will increase production. For pods, allow the plant to reach full maturity at which point the pods will turn yellow, indicating maturity.

Friendly Neighbours: Corn and cucumber are great neighbours.
