Rapini 40 Days: plant has small inflorescences with the most tender leaves that are used. They are sown all year round according to areas and are harvested according to the resp, negative cycle of 40 to 120 days after sowing.

If you are seeking a fast and early return on your rapini - this is your pick! This is a family favourite in the Zappa household - great steamed or fried in olive oil with some garlic and onion! Did you know that Rapini is actually a closer relative to turnips rather than the often assumed, broccoli? Well, it is!

Planting Guide: Sow 1/2" deep, 6" apart in rows 12" apart in well-drained soil. Best sown after the last seasonal frost and again in late summer for a fall harvest, although some will argue that rapini can be planted throughout the warmer season. Full sun is best or partial sun if planting mid-season. Keep soil moist. Ideal for succession planting.

Harvest: Careful not to get too caught up in the name - (40) - this plant must be watched to catch the ideal harvest which can occur any time after 20+ days. This plant bolts quickly, so once you see the flower buds form, it is ready for trimming. Trim 5" below the bud to encourage regrowth. Rapini will last in the refrigerator for about 10 days.
