Reference: V-RADICCHIOVARIEGATADICHIOGGIA
From Chioggia Italy, Radicchio Variegata di Chioggia is considered a blended mix of the Radicchio family in its red and white colour as well as its taste (slightly less bitter).
Planting Guide: A little more cold hardy, this radicchio can be planted 2-3 weeks before the final seasonal frost and again in late summer for a fall harvest. Fall is actually when it grows best. It is suitable for succession planting as well. Sow 1/4" deep, 10" -12" apart, in rows about 18" apart in well-drained soil. Partial sun.
Harvest: About 75 days - the lettuce will grow similar to an iceberg lettuce - round in shape. Cut at the base when intending to harvest with a sharp knife. Use within a week of harvest for best results.
