Where: Sow in full sun in well drained, thin (worked) soil.

When: Can be sowed in early spring - soil temperatures from 8-12 degrees celcius.

How: Sow 2"-4" apart in rows no deeper than 0.5" as these seeds need sun to germinate. Some choose to actually sprinkle the soil with seeds and allow water to create the sowing effect to ensure germination. Water twice a week. Rows of lettuce should be no more than 12 -18" apart.

Harvesting: Germination can happen in as little as 12 days and once developed, leaves can be trimmed throughout the harvesting season. The full head of lettuce can also be cut once mature - be sure to do so right above the soil surface. Isn't your mouth watering just thinking about it?
