The 'jewel' of lettuce, radicchio is a flavourful addition to any salad.
When: Radicchio can be planted as soon as the soil can be worked - it is hardier that most vegetables and a fan of cooler temps.
Planting Directions: Sow 8-12" apart in partial sun. Seeds should be sown 1/4" deep. Radicchio can be sown in the spring for summer harvest or late summer for fall.
Harvest: Harvest can happen once the leaves are 2-3" in length, but is full grown at about 60 days, to which a firm head has developed in the center.
