Deliciously sweet and succulent, this endive is also hardier than most lettuces and can be sown at various times throughout the planting season.
Planting Guide: Ideal for direct sowing in late May and again in July for a fall harvest. Sow 1" deep, 8" apart in rows about 10" apart. Soil should be moist and it is especially important to keep it that way - this plant thrives on moisture. Full sun is best.
Harvest: Baby leaves can be harvested in as soon as 6 weeks. The plant is at full maturity at about 10-12 weeks. To harvest at maturity, simply cut at the base.
Tip: This particular plant is susceptible to sun damage, so as it nears maturity, you may wish to tie the leaves together to protect the center.
